儲かるなら、得をするなら嘘を容認するという光景をよく見ます。自分の損得を意識すると無意識に嘘をつくことがあります。これが人間性です。なかなか厄介な性質です。
戦争の歴史をつぶさに見ると、戦争を始めるときには嘘があります。アメリカがメキシコを奪った戦争、ベトナム戦争、イラク戦争・・・・嘘で戦争を始めます。偽旗作戦などと呼ばれるもの。たいていの場合は、嘘の上に正義を叫び戦争を始めますね。
公金にたかって生計を立てている人も嘘つきばかりですし、政治家もよく嘘をつきますね。
身近なところでは、リサイクルなんていうのも嘘ですね。実際にリサイクルしていなくてもリサイクル業者に廃棄物を引き渡した時点でリサイクル率にカウントされます。プラスチック製品などは、石油から作るよりもリサイクルする方が余計にエネルギーを使いますから、リサイクルはエコだというのは嘘です。
自然エネルギーなんていうのも嘘ですね。石油は石炭は自然が作った資源ですが、それは自然ではないと言う。しかも風力や水力のように環境破壊に繋がる発電方式に比べると、他の動植物が使うことのない石油や石炭を燃やす方が環境破壊が少ないにも関わらず、風力や水力などの所謂自然エネルギーの方が環境負荷が低いと言う。
健康な血圧は人によって違うし、年齢を重ねれば通常は血圧は上がるものですが、一律に一定値以上を高血圧だとして降圧剤を処方する。これも嘘ですね。
日本人が作ったわけでもなく、占領中の憲法改正はできないのに、日本国憲法というのができましたが、これも嘘ですね。日本国憲法は法的に憲法ではありません。
大日本帝国憲法や日本国憲法には、役人は公務員であるとは書かれていないにも関わらず、役人を公務員だと言います。これも嘘ですね。正解は役人は官吏です。公務員は普通選挙で選ばれた人のことを言います。
儲かれば嘘でもいいんだ。
それを言うことで気持ちよくなれれば嘘でもいいんだ。
あなたの周りにもそういう人がたくさんいませんか？
あなた自身はどうですか？
あなたは嘘を見破れますか？
新選組の旗に「誠」という文字が書かれています。あれを見るとグッときます。現代社会はそれとは隔絶した世界のようです。嘘がまかり通る社会です。
今後AIを使ったフェイクが増えて、油断していると嘘の被害に遭う機会が増えるかもしれません。
私はモノづくりの最大の意義は「誠」だと思っています。嘘や誤魔化しが入るとモノは機能しませんから、モノづくりに真剣に取り組むと誠を求めざるを得ません。最終的には悟り・解脱・達観ような境地に達するかもしれません。

明るい社会を築きたいなら誠実であろうと努力するのが良いでしょう。
We often see situations where lies are tolerated if they bring profit or advantage. When people become conscious of personal gain or loss, they may lie unconsciously. This is human nature—an inconvenient trait indeed.
Looking closely at the history of wars, there are always lies at the beginning. The war in which America seized Mexico, the Vietnam War, the Iraq War… all began with lies. These are sometimes called “false flag operations.” In most cases, people shout about “justice” on top of lies, and thus wars begin.
Those who live off public funds are often liars, and politicians too frequently lie.
Closer to home, even “recycling” is a lie. Waste is counted as “recycled” the moment it is handed over to a recycling company, even if it is never actually recycled. For plastics in particular, recycling consumes more energy than producing new ones from petroleum, so the claim that recycling is eco-friendly is a lie.
“Natural energy” is also a lie. Petroleum and coal are resources created by nature, yet we are told they are not “natural.” Moreover, compared with power generation methods like wind and hydro—which can cause environmental destruction—burning petroleum or coal, which are not used by other animals and plants, actually causes less harm. And yet, wind and hydro are touted as low-impact “natural energies.”
Healthy blood pressure varies from person to person, and naturally rises with age. Yet we are told that anything above a uniform threshold is “high blood pressure,” and people are prescribed antihypertensive drugs. That too is a lie.
The Japanese Constitution was not written by the Japanese, and constitutional revision is not legally possible under occupation. Yet the so-called “Constitution of Japan” was established. This too is a lie—the Constitution of Japan is not legally a constitution.
Neither the Constitution of the Empire of Japan nor the current Constitution states that bureaucrats are “public servants.” And yet, bureaucrats are called civil servants. This is also a lie. The truth is that bureaucrats are officials; “public servants” are those elected through universal suffrage.
If it brings profit, then lying is acceptable.
If saying it makes you feel good, then lying is acceptable.
Aren’t there many such people around you?
And what about yourself?
Can you see through lies?
On the flag of the Shinsengumi, the word “誠” (makoto, sincerity) is written. Seeing that word stirs something in me. Today’s society feels like a world far removed from that. We live in a society where lies prevail.
With the rise of AI, more fakes will appear, and if you let your guard down, you may increasingly fall victim to lies.
For me, the greatest significance of craftsmanship lies in “sincerity.” A product cannot function if lies or deception are involved. When you devote yourself to making things, you are inevitably compelled to pursue sincerity. Ultimately, you may even reach a state of enlightenment, liberation, or transcendence.

If we wish to build a brighter society, we should strive to live with sincerity.
